92-94 Points, Neal Martin, Vinous: "The 2017 Nuits Saint-Georges Les Cailles 1er Cru has a mixture of red and black fruit on a nose of great clarity and focus; undergrowth scents filter in with aeration. The palate is extremely well balanced, exerting a gentle but insistent grip in the mouth. It feels a little chalky in texture. Shows great body and fine density; hints of orange peel come through toward the finish. Excellent." 01/19

The already quite beautiful bouquet delivers a superb and absolutely classic blend of cherries, plums, raw cocoa, a very complex base of minerality, gamebird, woodsmoke and vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, pure and properly reserved out of the blocks, with a great core of sappy fruit, beautiful soil signature, ripe, seamless tannins and great length and grip on the focused, perfectly balanced and oh, so promising finish. All this great wine needs is time in the cellar to fully blossom!" 01/19
