87-89 Points, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate: "The 2016 Nuits Saint Georges 1er Cru Les Vaucrains felt a little raw on the nose, rather stemmy compared to the Boudots. The palate is medium-bodied with chewy tannin, grippy in the mouth but it feels rather bony and needs more flesh toward the finish." 12/17

91-93 Points, Stephen Tanzer, Vinous: "(the crop here was normal in 2016): Bright, dark red. Pungent herbal high notes (cannabis?) to the aromas of black cherry and licorice. Penetrating, concentrated, high-pitched wine with a very fine-grained texture and moderate sweetness and fleshiness. Sharply focused but not hard. This youthful, classically styled wine finishes with firm, building, ripe tannins and excellent energy and lift. There's nothing astringent or rustic about this Vosne-side Nuits-Saint-Georges." 1/18
