Burghound

"96 Points, Burghound: ""A broad-ranging and more expressive nose consists of a wonderful range of spice elements together with notes of black tea, earth and floral hints. There is strikingly good intensity and real power to the overtly muscular big-bodied flavors that ooze a fine dry extract that imparts a suave, even velvety mouth feel to the robust finale that also delivers superb persistence. As the best examples of Musigny always are, this delivers that inimitable combination of power and finesse and in doing so deserves the high compliment of being a 'wow' wine."" 04/16"

John Gilman

"94-97 Points, John Gilman: "":Like the Grands Echézeaux, the 2014 Drouhin Musigny had been bottled in mid-August and was still grumpy from the mise. The wine was quite compact on the palate after the bottling, but I am sure this is just a normal stage and the wine should bounce back nicely with a bit more distance out from the bottling. Today, the nose is the more expressive element of the wine, offering up a very refined constellation of red and black cherries, red plums, cocoa, gamebird, mustard seed, woodsmoke, a gorgeous base of soil and vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, tangy and quite soil-driven, with a fine core, ripe tannins and a long, promising finish. This should prove to be very suave and very, very elegant when it is ready, but it was not particularly happy about being opened up in mid-November! 2025-2075+.""12/15"

Decanter

95 Points, Decanter: "Gorgeous wild strawberry fruit and floral nuances with a very silky texture and a savoury note on the finish. Great character and superb purity. A classic that needs time to develop even greater complexity."
