Freshly cut flowers, dark cherry, plum, mint and spice are some of the many notes that are knit together in a Montevertine that dazzles with nuance and pedigree. The 2016 is not an obvious wine, but it has class and persistence to burn, with tannins that are incredibly finessed for a young wine. Quite simply, the 2016 is one of the very finest Montevertines in recent memory. The 2016 was memorable from cask last year. It is every bit as riveting today.
