95 Points, William Kelley, Wine Advocate: "The 2016 Meursault 1er Cru Charmes is superb, unfurling in the glass with aromas of crisp peaches, apples, dried white flowers, honeycomb and oatmeal. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, satiny and pure, with a deep, concentrated and multidimensional core, vibrant acids and a long finish. There's plenty of tight-knit structure and dry extract here, so this should be a long-lived Charmes." 1/19

93 Points, Stephen Tanzer, Vinous: "Bright, light yellow. Deep but precise aromas of lemon, orange and hazelnut, with a hint of reduction. Densely packed and seamless, with its serious thickness of texture leavened by a strong impression of acidity. Conveys a crystallized citrus zest character, with firm acidity carrying and extending the fruit through a very graceful finish. Classic Charmes, made almost entirely from vines just below Perrières." 09/18

92-94 Points, Allen Meadows, Burghound: [Outstanding] "An all but invisible trace of reduction still allows the elegant nose of petrol, acacia blossom and ripe pear aromas to be appreciated. There is fine complexity to the vibrant, lightly stony and delicious medium-bodied flavors that possess good underlying tension; indeed this could reasonably be described as racy on the balanced and seriously complex and firmly structured finish. 94 Points, John Gilman, View from the Cellar: "Presumably, the Lafon holdings in Charmes were also not badly affected by the frost of April, as this is a great bottle of Charmes in the making in 2016. The bouquet jumps from the glass in a very precise and stylish mix of apple, passion fruit, complex, chalky soil tones, almonds, spring flowers and vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied and zesty, with a fine core and lovely inner tension. The finish is very long, nicely reserved in profile and racy, with impressive mineral drive and plenty of complexity. Lovely juice." 11/17
