Wine Advocate

91-93 Points, William Kelley, Wine Advocate: "The 2017 Mazis-Chambertin Grand Cru bursts with scents of cassis, wild plums, rich spices, forest floor and black truffle. On the palate, it's full-bodied, chewy and concentrated, standing out as one of the deeper, more powerful wines in the range and concluding with a long and expansive finish. While it isn't as refined as Fourrier's domaine bottlings, if this rounds out with further élevage and bottle age, it's a decidedly promising Mazis in the making." 04/19

Neil Martin

91-93 Points, Neal Martin, Vinous: "The 2017 Mazis-Chambertin Grand Cru shows some reduction on the nose that just blurs the edges of the black fruit here, though one can detect a subtle marine influence in the background. The palate is fresh on the entry, fleshy and generous with fine mineralité although, it does not quite have the engaging personality or the complexity of the Mazoyères-Chambertin. A very good Mazis, but I suspect it will gain more personality and depth with bottle age." 01/19

Burghound

92-94 Points, Allen Meadows' Burghound: "This arguably possesses the most complex nose in the range with its array of plum, spice, sauvage, earth, forest floor and leather-inflected aromas. There is equally good complexity to the more concentrated if less obviously stony flavors that culminate in a mildly wood but hugely long and well-balanced finish. Good potential here." 01/19
