Zachys
93+ Points, Zachys Buying Team: "Easily one of the greatest values from the Willamette Valley, and for that matter, where are you going to find an expression of the noble grape that offers so much at this price point? This is what the wines of Maison L'Envoye are about, and the Attaché is their best barrel selections from the alluvial and volcanic vineyard sites throughout the ancient valley. In 2014, the Attaché delivers ripeness, purity of fruit, and concentration with its signature silky texture without aggressive extraction. The wine most of all maintains its elegance and remains light on its feet, and like its sibling counterparts at Chapter 24, offers that soft Volnay-like texture that is missing from so many of its neighbors. Huge, alluring aromatics of red and blue fruit, baking spices, and forest floor carry over to the palate are joined by a succulent core of fruit, herbaceous undertones, vibrant acidity and seamless, well-integrated tannins and vibrant acidity. Best of all, it doesn't clobber you. Even better than the benchmark 2012. Bravo!"
Vinous Media
93 Points, Josh Raynolds: "(35 percent new oak) Limpid ruby-red. Powerful red berry and Asian spice aromas, along with suggestions of smoky minerals and incense. Sweet, seamless and penetrating on the palate, offering vibrant raspberry, cherry and spicecake flavors and a subtle touch of blood orange. Silky tannins emerge slowly and fold smoothly into the vibrant fruit on the long, nervy finish, which leaves notes of five-spice powder and red berries behind." 12/16
Wine Spectator
"92 Points, Harvey Steinman, Wine Spectator: ""Light and savory, with meaty, peppery overtones to the cherry and floral flavors, finishing gracefully. Has layers of complexity and terrific persistence. Best from 2018 through 2022. "" 12/15"
