Hermann J. Wiemer Reserve Dry Riesling 2019 (750ML)

94 Points, Mark Squires, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2019 Dry Riesling Reserve comes in with seven grams of residual sugar, very perceptibly dry and 12.5% alcohol. This is often the right combination of value and quality in the Wiemer lineup—not as expensive as the single-vineyard wines but competing well with them. So, too, this year. In fact, might this be the winner? I suspect not in the long run, but this certainly excels in 2019. Concentrated and structured, this is balanced as well. It's dry, but never shrill. It coats the mouth and finishes well. Beautifully wrought, this shows off its purity and never seems to have a hair out of place. It should have a long life ahead, maybe longer than indicated. This does have to prove that it can develop in the cellar, but right now I have to lean up on this. It's a beauty. There were 1,200 cases produced from these vineyards: 45% Josef, 20% HJW, 20% Magdalena, 15% Julia." 04/21

It's sultry and creamy on the medium-bodied palate, but well honed by vibrant acidity. A blossomy tone lingers throughout, with a rich core of peach and apple struck against a gently pithy texture.
