Wine Advocate
91 Points, Antonio Galloni, Wine Advocate: "Tenuta Belvedere is the Antinori family’s estate in Bolgheri. The property is vast, with over 300 hectares under vine, some of which I was able to visit with Allegra Antinori, who shares a similar passion for the pigs she raises on the estate’s grounds. Winemaking is overseen by Renzo Cotarella. The 2003 Guado al Tasso opens with a lovely nose redolent of spices and flowers followed by layers of sweet dark fruit, toasted oak and chocolate that reveal themselves in the glass. Still intensely backward, it presents hard tannins that should soften somewhat in the bottle. This blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot and 15% Syrah and other varietals spent 14 months in 100% new French oak. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2019." 2/07
Wine Spectator
91 Points, JS, Wine Spectator: "Beautiful aromas of blackberry, meat and light toasty oak follow through to a full-bodied palate, with fine tannins and a rich, decadent aftertaste. Opulent and stylish. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah and others. Best after 2007. 6,665 cases made." 10/06
Wine Enthusiast
92 Points, Wine Enthusiast: "The first thing you'll notice here is the outstanding quality of this wine (forget talk of 2003 being a difficult vintage). Thick and lush, notes of blackberry, blueberry, cherry and chocolate abound, but so does Mediterranean sage and herb that adds dimension and complexity. Fabulously taut and firm: drink after 2010." 4/07
