Wine Advocate

89-91+ Points, William Kelley, Wine Advocate: "Aromas of raspberries and cherries mingle with nuances of grilled meat and licorice, introducing the 2017 Gevrey-Chambertin Le Clos, a medium to full-bodied wine that-despite the comparatively young vine age-is one of the deeper, more concentrated village cuvées in the cellar, framed by velvety tannins." 1/19

Neil Martin

91 Points, Neal Martin, Vinous Media: "The 2017 Gevrey-Chambertin Le Clos is a little more vivacious and energetic than the "Champ", hints of orange zest infusing the open-knit red berry fruit, touches of tobacco emerging with time. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin. This feels fleshy though not deep, after all, this is not a Premier Cru. However, it is very poised with a dash of Shezhuan pepper imparting a tingling sensation on the aftertaste. Very fine." 1/19

90 Points, Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy: "Rich concentrated purple, ripe fruit on the nose with a certain density, slightly blacker fruit than Champ. Clearly more tension at the back, the oak is having some effect too, I don't find this quite so well balanced but there is a lot going on and it may well come into balance. Very long finish. Tasted: November 2018." 11/18
