On the palate it is once again a juicy mouthful dripping with candied red fruit, red licorice, wild berries, black cherry rind, and a touch of citrus closing with a Nebbiolo-like, dry and gripping tannic finish. It is along the finish that you really experience the influence of the volcanic soil with additional notes of charcoal, smoke and tar that marry with some green and herbaceous notes.
