90-93 Points, Stephen Tanzer, Vinous: "(the crop level here was reportedly barely ten hectoliters per hectare): Deep red-ruby. Purple fruits and pepper on the refined but very reticent nose. Very dry and firm, with its boysenberry, blackberry and spice flavors showing modest flesh. Finishes with substantial tongue-coating tannins. One can clearly appreciate the terroir here--and it's a distinctly Chambolle style of Echézeaux--but will this savory wine ever really expand and gain in pliancy?" 11/17

92-94 Points, Allen Meadows, Burghound: "Generous but not overwhelming wood fights somewhat with the otherwise very spicy and floral-scented nose of exotic dark currant and plum. There is terrific punch while preserving excellent detail on the rich, sleek and mineral-inflected medium weight plus flavors, all wrapped in beautifully long and complex finish. This has the stuffing to almost certainly absorb the wood and it should be excellent in time." 01/18

90-94 Points, Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy: "Suffered badly from the frost, making less than 3 barrels instead of 12 to 14. Purple colour, some oak on the nose, plump fruit too. Tight and a little bit tough at this early stage, tannins present more than acidity, but the quality of fruit is there so this may well harmonise with time."
