The fruit is not masked by American oak, there is just enough to offer some complementing spice and pipe tobacco notes. The wine is incredibly approachable offering a spectrum of nuances; cherry, blackberry, tea, citrus, leather, with a touch of smoke. In many ways, this medium-bodied Rioja combines rustic elements of traditional old world Rioja with a fine Chambolle Musigny and Sangiovese based wine. It is old world Rioja that is light on its feet with great fruit purity and captures the classicism of the 2010 vintage."
