95 Points, Andy Howard, Decanter: “From one of the largest wine concerns in the Bordeaux region, the key to the Couhins Lurton white is that it is made from 100% Sauvignon Blanc. The wine is fermented in 30% new oak barrels, and matured for 10 months in oak on full lees with batonnage. Andy Howard MW: A surprise! Intriguing wine, still fresher than some 12 years younger. Good fruit ripeness, a lingering mineral aftertaste. Lemon/lime zest, hints of stone fruit. Fine and luscious, with great vitality and lift. Tom Parker MW: Bouquet of vanilla, lime curd and toast, the reduction and vibrancy reminiscent of Hunter Valley Semillon. The palate is zesty and bright with lemony fruit. Limes and struck flint on a long and lively finish. Tim Triptree MW: Full-bodied dry white with flavours of peach, passion fruit, pineapple and mango and a creamy textured mouthfeel. Rich and opulent dry white, drinking superbly now.” 08/21
