Neil Martin

93-95 Points, Neal Martin, Vinous: "The 2019 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru is limpid in appearance. The bouquet is very refined and offers the most fruit intensity of all d’Eugénie’s cuvées, a mixture of red and black fruit plus light touches of oyster shell and fish scales. The palate is medium-bodied with good grip on the entry. Quite a masculine and sturdy Clos de Vougeot, it will need 4–6 years to smooth its edges. But I appreciate the persistence on the aftertaste, residues of white pepper and clove lingering on the tongue. Excellent." 12/20

Burghound

93-95 Points, Allen Meadows, Burghound: "This too is deftly wooded with an ultra-floral-suffused nose that speaks primarily of both red and dark berries, newly turned earth and a hint of humus. There is excellent volume to the denser and muscular yet relatively refined broad-shouldered flavors that culminate in a youthfully austere, compact and gorgeously long finish. The supporting tannins are dense but admirably fine-grained and while the overall impression is not as classy as that of the Grands Echézeaux, there is a bit more here. Patience is strongly advised." 01/21

Decanter

98 Points, Charles Curtis, Decanter: "From a 1.37ha parcel in the section of the Clos known as Les Marets Hauts, next to Drouhin-Laroze. Made with a little more than half whole clusters, gentle extraction and two winters in mostly new casks, this is a wine of superb elegance, with a mixture of ripe black and red berry fruit, a silky texture on the palate, along with a fresh, concentrated feel that lasts through the lingering finish." 10/20
