93-95+ Points, William Kelley, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2020 Clos Vougeot Grand Cru (Domaine Louis Jadot) is a standout this year. Revealing aromas of cassis, dark cherries, incense, rose petals, dark chocolate and spices, it's full-bodied, concentrated and structured, with striking depth and dimension. Vibrant and penetrating, it will require patience, but it's the finest Clos Vougeot I've ever tasted from Jadot." 01/22
Neil Martin
91-93 Points, Neal Martin, Vinous: "The 2020 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru is deep in colour. It comes across a little oaky on the nose at the moment, a bit impenetrable. The palate is medium-bodied with succulent tannins, ripe and fleshy, quite sweet on the finish, but maybe missing the noblesse of its peers at the moment." 11/19
James Suckling
97 Points, James Suckling, JamesSuckling.com: "Rich and gamey nose, of the kind that gets real Burgundy freaks very excited. Iron, smoke and earth in its soul. With aeration it develops wonderful, super-ripe sour-cherry fruit. Then comes the massive structure of the expansive yet fresh finish, the wine moving over your palate like a great ocean liner plowing through the waves of the North Atlantic. Here's one with decades of aging potential. From organically grown grapes. Drinkable now, but best from 2030." 07/22
Burghound
90-93 Points, Allen Meadows, Burghound: "Subtle wisps of menthol suffuse the ripe aromas of spicy purple fruit compote along with plenty of earth influence that is picked up by the supple and caressing yet powerful larger-scaled flavors that conclude in a markedly austere finish that is somewhat attenuated. This may better harmonize as it ages but that is not a given." 04/22
Decanter
92 Points, Charles Curtis MW, Decanter: "The nose seems a bit closed at present, so the plummy fruit and earthy aromas are not fully expressed. Similarly, the palate is currently tannic and slightly hard. The domaine-owned parcel of in the Clos de Vougeot is big - 2.15ha - and all in one piece, running from the bottom of the Clos to half-way upslope. The fruit was picked at 13.5% alcohol and destemmed before fermentation, with punching down in tank. Cask ageing will extend for 18 months in 35% new casks." 11/21
Other
94-96 Points, Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy: "Fine rich purple, solid nose as is typical, but not overwrought nor over ripe. Punchy on the palate, the menthol is back along with dark cherry and raspberry, the tannins are present but biding their time, the acidity offering a promising accompaniment for the decade before this is ready to start drinking." 11/21
