Wine Advocate

90-92 Points, William Kelley, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This cuvée seldom emerges among my favorites among the négociant bottlings from Jadot, but the 2020 Clos de la Roche Grand Cru (Maison Louis Jadot) has turned out quite nicely. Exhibiting notes of orange rind, dark fruits, loamy soil and toasty new oak, it's full-bodied, rich and chewy, with firm, powdery tannins that assert themselves a touch aggressively on the finish." 01/22

Neil Martin

94-96 Points, Neal Martin, Vinous: "The 2020 Clos de la Roche Grand Cru has a more powerful and demonstrative bouquet compared to Jadot’s Clos Saint-Denis with layers of blackberry, boysenberry and raspberry fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with a touch of graphite on the entry, lightly spiced, perhaps sans the same precision as the Clos Saint-Denis on the finish, a hint of peppercorns on the aftertaste. Still, this is very fine and quite noble." 11/19

92-95 Points, Allen Meadows, Burghound: "The peculiar type of reduction that the Burgundians call bourgeon de cassis (cassis blossom) currently dominates the nose. There is more size, weight and richness if not the same refinement to the more substantially constituted flavors that display an overt power and muscle on the very firmly structured and impressively persistent finish. Much like the Lavaut St. Jacques, this is decidedly old school in style and plenty of patience will be necessary." 04/22
