The new cellar is a modern, no-expense-spared facility and highly awarded winemaker Alessandro Cellai has recently moved over from Castellare di Castellina. Barrique ageing is evident in the wood spice nuances and sweet oak tannins but there is plenty of pure, vigorous fruit to back it up. Blackberry and currants pack the core in this sleek, polished package. Sangiovese’s underlying radiant acidity leaves the mouth clean.”
