It remains a prodigious, full-bodied, spectacular Chateauneuf du Pape possessing a deep ruby/purple color with only a hint of amber at the edge. A stunning nose of blackberries, pepper, smoke, dried herbs, and licorice is followed by a full-bodied wine with a seamless personality, a multi-layered texture, and a fabulous wealth of fruit. While fully mature, it is capable of 5-7 additional years of life." 6/00

It has a fantastic nose of leather, hung game, Bovril and orange blossom with stunning delineation The palate is medium-bodied, elegant and refined with leathery, decayed, dusty black fruit, complemented by notes of bay leaf, tar and game. It seems to run out of puff in the glass, but it remains a gorgeous, cerebral, rustic Rhone to treasure. Drink now-2017. Tasted January 2017."
