Wine Advocate
92 Points, Joe Czerwinski, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Last year prior to bottling, I had some concerns about the severity of the tannins in the 2017 Chateauneuf du Pape La Fleur de Capucine. Now that it has been bottled, the tannins looks much smoother, but it's the alcohol that sticks out a bit, despite being labeled at only 14.8%. All Grenache from les Galimardes, aged in demi-muids and barriques, it's full-bodied, round and plummy, with hints of raspberries and strawberries, plus notes of garrigue and just a bit of astringency on the lengthy finish. It's clearly much better than the sample was last year, with a decade or so of longevity ahead of it." 09/20
Vinous Media
90-91 Points, Josh Raynolds, Vinous: "Deep brilliant red. Ripe red and blue fruits, baking spices and a hint of succulent herbs on the deeply perfumed nose. In an ample, forward style, offering sweet raspberry and boysenberry flavors sharpened by a late snap of spicy white pepper. Smooth, rounded tannins lend shape to a long, red-fruit-dominated finish that leaves a sappy floral pastille note behind." 12/19
Wine Enthusiast
92 Points, Anna Lee C. Lijima, Wine Enthusiast: "Made from 100% Grenache sourced from 60-year-old vines, this is a profoundly ripe but firmly structured wine. Notes of dried black plum and cherry preserves are filigreed by peppery tones of crushed sweet spice and baked earth. Bold, stalwart tannins will need a few years to meld, but it should evolve nicely through 2030." 03/21
