Wine Enthusiast

97 Points, Anna Lee C, Iljima, Wine Enthusiast: "Mulled blueberries and dewy rose-petal notes perfume this silk-textured Grenache. It's a rich, powerfully penetrating wine that fills the palate in pools of black-cherry and berry flavors, but maintains a thrilling mineral freshness and vitality. Framed by fine, silky tannins, it's approachable already but should improve well through 2040 at least." 10/21

Decanter

93 Points, Matt Walls, Decanter: "A fresh and vibrant black cherry and damson-scented nose. A concentrated and naturalistic expression of the terroir; pliable tannins, sappy berry fruit, with a natural upsurge of power and muscle on the palate. Natural class. 60-year-old vines owned by the Sabon family of Domaine de la Janasse." 10/20

Other

93-95 Points, Jeb Dunnuck, JebDunnuck.com: "Not yet bottled, the 2019 Châteauneuf Du Pape reveals a more ruby/plum color as well as a Provençal bouquet of spiced black raspberries, ground pepper, flowery incense, and Asian spices. Possessing medium to full-bodied richness on the palate, it has terrific mid-palate depth, ripe, present tannins, and a great finish. It’s certainly an outstanding wine, and it’s a bigger, richer wine than usual from this estate. It’s going to offer some upfront charm, but I think 2-3 years of bottle age will be warranted, and it should have 15 years of overall longevity." 10/20
