Wine Advocate Notes
91-93 Points, Wine Advocate: "Due to be bottled in spring 2015, the 2013 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Morgeot (under the Marquis de Laguiche banner) was cropped between September 30 - and October 8 and Véronique mentioned that the two parcels suffered a little millerandage in this year. The nose is quite forward and generous with fennel and white pepper infusing the citrus-fresh fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with a pretty, lightly spiced entry with touches of yellow plum and even a hint of fish oil. There is fine weight in the mouth with a sensual finish that lingers nicely in the mouth. Excellent." 12/14
Burghound Notes
89-92 Points, Allen Meadows, Burghound: "Like the Meursault villages there is a hint of matchstick to the lemon rind, petrol and pretty yellow orchard fruit aromas. There is excellent volume to the delicious and palate coating flavors that possess a firm acid spine that shapes and balances the lingering finish. There is a trace of warmth and this isn't especially elegant yet this is one of those wines that manage to overcome its minor faults." 6/15
John Gilman Notes
93 Points, John Gilman, View From the Cellar: "The Marquis de Laguiche Morgeot is outstanding in 2013, wafting from the glass in a pure and refined constellation of pear, orange zest, apple, chalky soil tones, a touch of the butter to come, apple blossoms and vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and nascently complex, with lovely purity and focus, a fine core, bright acids and excellent length and grip on the long and utterly classic finish. A fine, fine bottle in the making." 12/14
