Critics

Wine Advocate Notes
90 Points, Wine Advocate: "The 2013 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru, which was picked on October 7-8, completely destemmed and spent 13 months in oak, has a pastille-like purity on the entry with red cherries, wild strawberry and undergrowth scents. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, a fine line of acidity and a harmonious, quite elegant finish that slips down the throat with ease. This should give a decade's worth of drinking pleasure." 12/14
Burghound Notes
90-92 Points, Allen Meadows, Burghound: "There is a discreet application of wood setting off the notably floral and layered nose that is comprised of spice, black cherry and exotic tea scents that include an interesting hint of dried tangerine skin. The seductively lacy medium weight flavors possess really lovely delineation and transparency along with perceptible minerality on the saline, balanced and lingering finish. This is textbook Chambolle." 4/15
John Gilman Notes
92 Points, John Gilman, View From the Cellar: " The 2013 Chambolle Premier Cru bottling from the Drouhins is really superb, jumping from the glass in a primary blaze of red and black cherries, coffee, gamebirds, a beautiful base of soil, mustard seed and a touch of bonfire in the upper register. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and rock solid at the core, with ripe tannins, tangy acids, fine focus and grip and a long, nascently complex and very promising finish. This will be lovely." 12/14
