Wine Advocate

91-93 Points, Neal Martin, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2016 Chambolle Musigny 1er Cru, from the under-25 year-old vines "barred" from the Musigny, is a step up from the village cru in terms of depth and fruit intensity, a mixture of raspberry and blackcurrant, fine mineralité and a subtle touch of iodine. The palate is replete with crunchy black fruit, a fine-boned Chambolle with a dash of white pepper fanning out toward the finish. I appreciate the energy and the focus of this wine and it should age with style once in bottle." 12/17

Vinous Media

91-93 Points, Stephen Tanzer, Vinous: "Good dark red. Distinctly more relaxed on the nose than the 1er Cru, with aromas of red and darker berries lifted by a floral character and sweetened by a chocolatey nuance. More harmonious and serene on the palate than the foregoing wines, conveying an impression of finesse to its sour cherry and berry flavors; its firm tannins are nicely supported by mid-palate density." 1/18

Burghound

88-91 Points, Burghound: "This is also ultra-fresh, cool and airy aromas that are composed of notes of dark currant, blueberry, lavender, violet and a wisp of spice. There is once again excellent punch and detail to the wonderfully vibrant medium-bodied flavors that exude evident minerality on the robust and muscular finish that also displays just a hint of tannic dryness. This too will probably round out and my projected range offers the benefit of the doubt." 1/18
