Neil Martin

95-97 Points, Neal Martin, Vinous: "The 2017 Chambertin Grand Cru is blessed with an exquisite bouquet: blackberry, briary, crushed stone and light violet aromas that gently unfold in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grain tannin, hints of tobacco infusing the black fruit with an almost effervescent finish that leaves the mouth tingling. Completely gorgeous and maybe a little profound? Maybe very profound? It is a brilliant wine from one of the appellation's most exciting growers." 11/18

Burghound

93 Points Allen Meadows, Burghound: "A background application of wood surrounds the cool and airy aromas of dark cherry, plum, earth and a whisper of the sauvage. There is terrific intensity to the beautifully delineated mineral-driven flavors that possess a refined mouthfeel before culminating in a saline, focused and strikingly persistent finish. This is almost a hypothetical combination of the Chapelle and the Latricières with the richness and volume of the former allied with the minerality, finesse and power of the latter. Patience advised." #77 01/20

John Gilman

97 Points, John Gilman, View From The Cellar: "The 2017 Chambertin from Domaine Rossignol-Trapet is utterly complete wine. The refined and perfumed nose offers up a youthful mix of red and black cherries, plums, cocoa powder, grilled meats, a very complex base of soil, woodsmoke, cinnamon and cedary oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and sappy at the core, with a beautiful synthesis of pure fruit and great soil tones. The finish is very long, ripely tannic and impeccably balanced, with stunning complexity and focus and a vibrant, magical finish. Chambertin at its finest! 2028-2085." #78 12/18
