Wine Advocate
91-93 Points, Neal Martin, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2015 Chablis 1er Cru Butteaux has an expressive bouquet with white flowers and subtle tertiary scents infusing the citrus fruit. The palate is well balanced and more saline than Raveneau's other Premier Crus, with fine acidity and a crisp, lively, mineral-tinged finish. Butteaux often has a little fatness to redeem its steeliness and you can feel that in this excellent 2015 Chablis, which should give 10-15 years of pleasure. " 8/16
Vinous Media
91-93 Points, Stephen Tanzer, Vinous: "Pale yellow. Subtly complex aromas of quinine, lemon, mint and crushed stone; even more minerally than the Monteé de Tonnerre. Offers the most inner-mouth tension by far to this point, showing a sharply chiseled quality to its grapefruit and mineral flavors. ("This site does great in warm years," noted Raveneau, as the portion of the vineyard at the rather flat top of the lieu-dit faces slightly northeast.) Fined-grained, dry and classic, but with the richness of the vintage." 7/16
Burghound
90-93 Points, Allen Meadows, Burghound: "Sweet spot Outstanding! An elegant and pure nose is notably ripe but evidences ample classic Chablis aromas that include pear, white flower and tidal pool hints. The rich and vibrant flavors possess good volume and muscularity before concluding in a clean, dry and mildly austere if perhaps slightly less complex finish than the Montée de Tonnerre. Like the MdT this is an excellent 2015 1er and worth considering - plus should age well." 10/16
