Wine Advocate

94 Points, Monica Larner, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The Frescobaldi 2015 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva Ripe al Convento di Castelgiocondo offers rich density and soft texture with a good balance of fruit, spice and structure. Frescobaldi was among a handful of producers to make a Riserva in 2014, and this follow-up vintage shows the superiority of the growing season for sure. This 2015 edition has a better sense of balance and fruit, and there's more meat on these bones. There's also more fruit fiber for longer aging." 11/20

Vinous Media

93 points, Eric Guido, Vinous: “The 2015 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva of Castelgiocondo balances the ripeness of the vintage with a deft use of oak. Here I’m finding notes of balsamic spice, dusty roses and dried cherries. It’s a silky and polished effort, balancing tart red berries with creamy textures and salty minerality. Tannins slowly saturate, clenching the palate with youthful tension, as this tapers off with wild herbal and woodland tones. The 2015 Riserva is built for the cellar.” 11/20

James Suckling

97 points, James Suckling, “A firm, silky red with black and red cherries and hints of mint. Undergrowth and wild-strawberry undertones. It’s full-bodied with super fine yet structured tannins that lead the wine down a deep and intense palate. A minerally, almost chalk and oyster-shell undertone to the fruit. Drink in 2023 and onwards.” 12/20
