95+ Points, Monica Larner, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Fuligni is on a short list of the best wine estates in Montalcino. The 2015 Brunello di Montalcino is fragrant and delicate, showing a level of precision and elegance that pushes the limits of this terrific vintage. The wine is fresh and buoyant with ample primary fruit and acidity to carry it over multiple decades of cellar aging. The bouquet reveals a slow succession of wild berry, rose, crushed flowers and graphite-like aromas with spice and licorice. The mouthfeel is structured, firm and built to last." 10/20
93 Points, Ian D'Agata, Vinous: "Good, deep red. Captivating nose combines ripe red cherry, leather, sweet spices, milk chocolate and earth tones. An outstanding wine that offers compelling sweetness in the mouth, but without quite the spine of acidity and delineation that usually gives Fuligni's Brunellos their exceptionally refined character in practically every vintage. Milk chocolate, sweet spices and earth notes all repeat and linger on the creamy aftertaste." 4/20
100 Points, James Suckling, www.jamessuckling.com: "The purity of fruit on the nose is perfection with cherries, crushed raspberries, mineral, pumice and citrus fruit. Dust, too. Full body. Powerful, chewy tannins. So long and muscular, yet polished and formed. Most structured Brunello I have ever had from here. A wine for decades. Try after 2022." 10/19
95 Points, Michaela Morris, Decanter: "The Fuligni estate is located between the town of Montalcino and Torrenieri in the northeast. Its 10ha of vineyards reach up to 450 metres on rocky marls and are mostly east facing. This rather gentle, cooler exposition worked in the wine's favour in 2015. While full-bodied, it is adeptly proportioned and even demonstrates great precision, boasting sweet, dried herbs, coriander and leather atop plush red cherries. There is a stoniness underneath, with layers of clingy tannins and a sappy, appetising finish." 2/20
International Wine Reviews
99 Points, Raffaele Vecchione, International Wine Report: "The 2015 Fuligini is a sensational showing which begins with a devastating sensory richness that ranges from hints of red fruits with notes of currants, raspberries and wild strawberries that give character and authenticity to one of the Top Brunello wines in 2015. The red notes combine delicately and imperceptibly with herbaceous and citrus fruits which come together with orange peel and hints of cinnamon. Full body, silky tannins and a sweet and perfectly integrated nature: all these elements, well-combined together, make an incredible wine. The result of an extraordinary territory and great work in the vineyard. Enveloping, harmonious and with remarkable balance through the finish. Delicious to drink now, but should be even more compelling with a few more years of bottle age." 03/20
97+ points, Luca Gardini, Gardininotes.com: "An important family that has been vinifying for a hundred years a great label of Brunello inspired to spiciness. On the nose, alcohol-infused cherries enhanced by a vegetal trace. The mouthfeel is elegant, complex and crunchy with a closing of marked minerality."
