This is a rich and nicely saturated expression from Fabio Tassi, who has done a great job of capturing the sultry side of this vintage. The wine finishes with dark, spicy fruit, perfect to savor alongside the specialty of the day, whether it be pasta or meat, served at Tassi's terrific restaurant across from the fortress in downtown Montalcino.
