Bourgogne Rouge Maison Leroy 2017 (750ML)

Maison Leroy
The story of the Leroy family’s dominance in the wine world began more than a century ago, in 1868, when François Leroy founded Maison Leroy in Auxey-Duresses, a small village near Meursault. Along with Domaine Leroy and Domaine d’Auvernay, it is today run by Madame Lalou Bize-Leroy, who joined her father Henri (Francois’s grandson) in 1955 and took over from him in 1971. From 1997 to 1992 she was co-manager of Domaine de la Romanee-Conti.

One of the best values in this portfolio is the Maison Leroy Bourgogne level wines. Do not be deceived by the designation. While Lalou Bize Leroy never reveals the source of the grapes, it is known that these are usually grapes from villages and 1er Cru plots, and she blends each vintage to best represent her wines for that vintage. This is where Lalou Bize-Leroy spends her most energy; the Bourgognes are the real flagship wines of the house.
