93+ Points, Christopher Deas, Zachys Buying Team: "Tasted two times. This is a great example of why an argument can be made for the more classic 2014 vintage over the riper and fuller vintage of 2015 . Aside from offering an approachable introduction to Burgundy royalty, this Bourgogne rouge is an example of what Lalou does best - and that is waiting for her wines to be ready for release. This little gem from 2014 was released after the opulent 2015. The more terroir-driven expression from the classic vintage required a little more time in the bottle and was worth the wait. The wine begins very 2014, a little restrained and taut, but with aeration this wine blossoms and is ready to drink now. We went with the slow-o treatment for a few hours and it opened up with an expansive mouthful of silky fruit, but yet remained incredibly light on its feet. It is one of those Burgundy's that showcases both red and blue fruit and you can expect to find nuances of Morello cherries, wild berries, plum, crushed flowers, spice, and minerality with just a touch of forest floor. There is an inner perfume that echoes throughout the palate and provides for a lingering finish. This wine does exactly what it is supposed to do, and it is simply a fun Bourgogne to enjoy now. How do you say delicious in French - 2014 Leroy Bourgogne Rouge."
