Wine Advocate

91-93 Points, Neal Martin, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2016 Bienvenues Batard Montrachet Grand Cru was diminished from 22 to seven barrels this vintage. The bouquet demanded some coaxing from the glass, a little introverted following the Pucelles and Folatières. With time there are fleeting glimpses of wild mint and iodine. The palate is very balanced and harmonious, a pretty and feminine Bienvenues with nicely pitched acidity and a touch of orange peel and white peach toward the saline finish. I suspect it will drink earlier than Leflaive's other grand crus." 12/17

Burghound

93-95 Points, Allen Meadows, Burghound: [Don't miss!] "Notes of smoky reduction mask the fruit though the nose does seem ripe. Otherwise the mouth feel of the slightly bigger and richer flavors is similar to that of the Pucelles while the impeccably well-balanced finish displays just a bit more length." 06/18

John Gilman

94 Points, John Gilman, View From the Cellar: "There are only seven barrels of the 2016 Bienvenues in the Leflaive cellars this year, which is one-third of normal. The wine was spot on at the time of my visit, delivering a fine aromatic constellation of apple, pear, a touch of honeycomb, complex, chalky soil, a dollop of orange oil, fresh almond and vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied and classically solid at the core, with fine soil inflection, lovely, snappy acids and excellent complexity on the long, balanced and very classy finish. 2023-2060" Issue #72
