Wine Advocate

95-97 Points, Lisa Perrotti-Brown, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A barrel sample, the 2016 Bellevue Mondotte has a very deep purple-black color and comes bursting out of the glass with well-defined notes of crushed black plums, blackberry pie and chocolate-covered cherries plus hints of Indian spices, potpourri, roasted meats and wood smoke. The palate is very big, rich, full and built like a brick house with a firm frame of grainy tannins and fantastic freshness, finishing very long and layered." 11/18

Antonio Galloni

98 Points, Antonio Galloni, Vinous: "Bellevue Mondotte is magnificent in 2016. Stunningly rich and concentrated, with tremendous structure, the 2016 has so much to offer. Crème de cassis, raspberry jam, lavender, graphite, game, menthol and a whole rush of inky blue/purplish fruit emerge from this explosive, captivating Saint-Émilion. In 2016 Bellevue Mondotte balances sumptuousness with saline-infused energy and persistence. It is without question one of the truly great wines of the vintage." 1/19

James Suckling

97 Points, James Suckling: "A dense and layered red with ripe plums and blueberries, as well as hints of wet earth and moss. Full-bodied, velvety and layered with fantastic fruit and creamy, velvety tannins. Plush and deep. Great wine. Try from 2023." 2/19
