90 Points, Neal Martin, Vinous: "The 2016 Belle-Vue feels just a little reduced on the nose and demands some aeration: quite intense black cherries, blueberry and boysenberry jam, ebbing away to reveal more marine-like influences. The palate is medium-bodied with chewy tannin, good acidity, very smooth and harmonious and, though there is a fair "slap" of new oak on the finish, it feels simpatico with the fruit. Deeply colored, with a powerful bouquet of crème de cassis, black cherries, leafy herbs, and earth, it's medium to full-bodied, has ultra-fine tannins and fabulous balance. A blend of 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, and 20% Petit Verdot, aged in 30% new French oak, it's almost too good to be true and should be snatched up by readers. (Drink between 2019-2034)" 2/19
