Neil Martin

92 Points, Neal Martin, Vinous: "The 2016 Beaune Vignes Franches 1er Cru has a little more amplitude on the nose compared to de Montille's Beaune Les Perrières: raspberry and black plum fruit with subtle undergrowth aromas. Neat and tidy. The palate has an appealing rondeur on the entry, plump but not overweight with blackberry, white pepper and just a little new oak to be subsumed on the finish. Slightly modern in style, but well crafted. Tasted blind at the 2016 Burgfest tasting in Burgundy. (DIAM 30 closure)" 11/18

James Suckling

94 Points, James Suckling, jamessuckling.com: "Even today, Beaune is frequently underrated despite being within Burgundy. And this wine shows what nonsense that is. Great aromas of black fruit and concentration with beautifully integrated tannins. A long and complete finish, making this rather exciting. Drink or hold." 02/18

Wine Spectator

92 Points, Bruce Sanderson, Wine Spectator: "An elegant yet structured style, exhibiting floral, cherry, currant, earth and spice flavors, showing a hint of graphite. Balanced, with the oak spice gaining prominence on the lingering finish. Best from 2021 through 2035. 40 cases imported." 12/18
