Wine Advocate

93 Points, William Kelley, Wine Advocate: "The 2016 Beaune 1er Cru Les Grèves Vigne de l'Enfant Jesus offers up pretty aromas of cherries, cassis, sweet loamy soil, truffles and grilled game bird. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, velvety and supple, with a succulent core of fleshy fruit and a rich and textural profile. It's a giving, generous wine that should offer a broad drinking window, but don't let its early approachability deceive, as it should be long-lived too." 1/19

Vinous Media

91-93 Points, Stephen Tanzer, Vinous: "Healthy dark red. Aromas of kirsch, black raspberry and dark chocolate are lifted by an element of pungent minerality. A distinct step up in sweetness and depth from the preceding samples, at once broad and fine-grained, showing excellent clarity to its silky flavors of dark fruits, spices and minerals. Really saturates the palate with flavor and echoes on the long finish, with the suave tannins glistening on the aftertaste. The 2015 version of this wine is almost too concentrated, said Weber, and quite marked by its vintage, like the 2009." 1/18

Burghound

92-94 Points, Burghound: "Here too the wood treatment is anything but subtle though it stops just short of completely overshadowing the exuberantly spicy plum liqueur and earth-scented nose. There is good drive and even better detail if not the impressive concentration to the medium weight flavors that exude a subtle minerality on the ever-so-slightly warm and very firm finish. Again, my predicted range assumes that the wood treatment will be successfully absorbed over time and note as well that plenty of patience will be necessary." 4/18
