Zachys
94+ Points, Christopher Deas, Zachys Buying Team: "With only the third release in the 150+ years of Jadot, this is absolutely the finest "Anniversary" (now labeled as "Celebration") expression to date. It is an absolutely stunning super Premier Cru Burgundy from Frédéric Barnier that would make Jacques Lardiere proud. Aside from offering an approachable introduction to Burgundy pedigree, this is a tremendous example of why 2015 is being discussed as one of the great modern red Burgundy vintages since 2005.The only comment we would disagree with on this wine are the reviews that suggest enthusiasts need to be patient, "as the wine is shut down." The bottle is exuberant and delicious now and is simply hard to resist. One pull of the cork, and it screams Burgundy from across the table, and is another one of those breathtaking wines where the aromatics alone are worth the price of admission. It explodes right out of the gate with the red fruit spectrum- wild berries, cranberries, bright red Morello cherries, succulent strawberries, crushed rose petals, citrus, tea, and minerality. There is an inner perfume that echoes throughout palate and provides for a marathon finish. While the wine captures the ripeness and juiciness of the vintage, there is awesome structure - glassy tannins, balancing acidity and depth. This is a rare 2015 Premier Cru without the forbidding price tag that you can cheat on now, but its greatest promise lies ten to twenty years from now. Absolutely breathtaking. Where else can you find this story and quality from the Côte d'Or? We agree with Allen Meadows who once stated, this is one to stock-up on as it will be a rare value treasure as it ages!"
Antonio Galloni
93+ Points, Antonio Galloni, Vinous: "The 2015 Beaune 1er Cru Celebration is a rich, radiant wine. Sumptuous and expansive on the palate, the 2015 possesses striking inner perfume and fabulous depth. The flavors are dark, bold and incisive in this decidedly potent, somber Beaune 1er Cru from Jadot. Even with all of its natural richness, the 2015 is massively tannic and shut down. I wouldn't dream of opening a bottle anytime soon. The combination of 19 climats results in a Beaune of unusual complexity and pedigree, but readers will have to be patient. The 2015 was only bottled in December 2017."
Decanter
96 Points, Decanter: "Open and pleasant nose showing pretty floral and ripe red berry fruit along with spicy oak. The palate is elegant and juicy with red apple, beetroot and dried cranberry flavours, crunchy, ripe tannins and a chalky undertone. Very fine, tasty and well handled." 5/18
