Wine Advocate
92 Points, Monica Larner, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This is an accessible Barolo that delivers plenty of varietal and territorial typicity without breaking the bank. With 37,855 bottles released, the Poderi Luigi Einaudi 2017 Barolo Ludo draws its fruit from the younger vines across various vineyards, including Cannubi, Terlo and Bussia. The wine promises a fresh and snappy style, with wild fruit, tarry resin, blue flower and crushed limestone. Those pretty and faithfully characteristic Nebbiolo tones are drawn out nicely by the medium-rich texture of the wine." 10/21
James Suckling
94 points, James Suckling, www.jamessuckling.com: “A lot of fruit purity in the nose with ripe strawberries, flowers and some crushed stones. Full-bodied with a solid core of fruit and so much power, yet it’s polished and focused and not aggressive. Give it three or four years of bottle age. Plenty of potential here. Try after 2025.” 06/21
Wine Spectator
93 Points, Bruce Sanderson, Wine Spectator: "This is fresh, harmonious and expressive, featuring rose, strawberry, cherry, and eucalyptus flavors. Firms up nicely, lending support for future potential, yet finds its equilibrium on the finish. On the elegant side, with fine length. Best from 2024 through 2042. 916 cases made, 83 cases imported.
