Wine Advocate

91 Points, Monica Larner, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This is a private vineyard site registered to Moccagatta. The 2016 Barbaresco Bric Balin shows ripe fruit intensity with dark layers of cherry, dark blackberry and spice. This wine is more dry and subdued in terms of aromas with less of the baby fat and spice that you get in the other wines. The effect is dry and streamlined. This is a great bottle to open soon with pumpkin risotto. Production for this wine is the largest, with 14,000 bottles made." 06/19

Antonio Galloni

96 Points, Antonio Galloni, Vinous: "The 2016 Barbaresco Bric Balin, Moccagatta's flagship, is fabulous. Rich and sumptuous in the glass, with tremendous allure, the 2016 has so much to offer. A rush of dark cherry, espresso, licorice, spice and leather builds as this creamy, luscious Barbaresco shows off its immediacy and appeal. There is plenty of tannin, but it is nearly buried by the wine's luxurious fruit. What a gorgeous wine this is. The 2016 is once again simply compelling. Another year in bottle has only been a help." 11/19

James Suckling

92 Points, James Suckling, jamessuckling.com: "A very ripe and self-assertive Barbaresco with peanuts, coffee beans, notes of tar and ash, as well as dried fruit. Hints of menthol. Very chewy and decadent on the palate with brassy tannins and an opulent finish. Blockbuster style, but holds together. The tannins linger on the roof of your mouth. Drink from 2024." 11/19
