90 Points, Allen Meadows, Burghound: "This deftly wooded effort is aromatically similar to the Auxey villages though with a bit more earth influence that can also be found on the slightly finer medium-bodied flavors that evidence more evident minerality on the austere, serious and structured finale. Provided that you have the patience to cellar it, this should deliver fine quality in time." 04/19

90-92 Points, Neal Martin, Vinous: "The 2017 Auxey-Duresses 1er Cru, a blend of two vineyards and, unlike 2015 and 2016, completely de-stemmed, has a deeper, slightly blacker nose than the Village Cru, certainly displaying more mineralité at this primordial stage. The well-defined palate is taut and linear, displaying impressive backbone considering the appellation in question. This is a great Auxey-Duresses, full of tension and vigor, offering lovely blackberry, black olive and saline notes toward the finish. Don't overlook this gem from Comte Armand." 10/18

    Decanter Notes
92 Points, Tim Atkin, Decanter:"Comte Armand's premier cru blend comes from two sites - Les Bréterins and Bas des Duresses - which are combined in more or less equal proportions to produce this sturdy, firm, serious Auxey red. It's sappy and structured with well-integrated 20% new wood." 10/18
