The Chateau Latour of Burgundy... Domaine d'Eugenie
In early 2006 Domaine Rene Engel was sold to Francois Pinault, owner of Chateau Latour, and Domaine d’Eugenie was born.
As many fans of Burgundy can tell you, Domaine Rene Engel produced some of the best Vosne Romanee of the area due to the fantastic vineyards that they owned.
Now those vineyards are in the hands of the infamous First Growth Director, Frederic Engerer. With their first Vintage, 2006, Engerer and his team hit the ground running; turning out some very impressive wines and quelling everyones doubt that Engerer and his team could work with Pinot Noir.
When one thinks Chateau Latour – One thinks, Power and Grace. The same can be said about the wines from Domaine d’Eugenie as Engerer and his team have shown that they can produce elegant and refined wines while maintaining the same philosophy that has re-established Chateau Latour as the premier First Growth. Only time will tell, but the future and quality of Domaine d’Eugenie wines are sure to be some of the best of the region.
