"Utterly Impeccable" Chardonnay from one of California's Best
Antonio Galloni calls it "one of the most exciting new projects in California," and says that this wine "merit[s] serious attention." We couldn't agree more; winemaker Matt Dees creates wines that are flat-out fantastic. Every vintage from The Hilt seems to be better than the last, and this is the case with their latest release of Chardonnay Old Guard:
With connections to All-Star wineries such as Jonata and Screaming Eagle, The Hilt spares no expense either in the vineyards or in the winery. The result is one of the best new Burgundy-varietal projects to arrive on California's Central Coast. Though drinking well right out of the gate, this will be a thrill-ride of a wine to follow over the next few years. And if recent history is any indicator, the future vintages will be too! Grab a bottle or two and see what all the fuss is about!
