Burgundy's Vibrant 2010 Whites

The 2010 vintage, unlike the 2009, gave the vignerons in Burgundy several challenges, but the bottled wines are now being declared as one of the best vintages of the decade by reviewers all over the world.  Most recently the whites were spotlighted in the September issue of Wine Spectator where Bruce Sanderson said  'If there is a drawback it is that yields are down".  He continued that 'overall, the wines show great precision and clarity, combined with density and richness, characteristics that bode well for aging".
It's not hard to get me excited to open a few bottles of White Burgundy, but Bruce's spotlight and upgrading the vintage rating to 93 points (the highest rating in the last decade) FORCED me to pull a few bottles. Below are some of my highlights and you can find a link here to all of the 2010 White Burgundy we have left to sell.

St. Aubin Combes Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey 2010:
"Candied peach and cool calcaire minerality on the nose. Dense but juicy and precise, with lovely acid cut to the orange flavor. Finishes firm and long...90." IWC 9/11.
Puligny Montrachet Domaine Leflaive 2010:
"On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, pure and snappy, with laser-like focus, great mid-palate depth and superb cut and grip on the very long and transparent finish. A seamless and electric bottle of Puligny AC!...92." JG 12/11.
Meursault Arnaud Ente 2010:
"Yes, yes, yes! Here is a stunning, quintessential Meursault nose with smoke, walnut and a touch of lemon peel with great precision. The palate is vibrant and full of mineralité on the entry…It is very expressive with a complex finish of quince and spice. Superb...92." WA 11/12
Chassagne Montrachet En Remilly Colin-Deleger 2010:
"...very fresh and admirably pure nose offers up notes of white flower, spiced pear, wet stone and lemon hints that continue over to the intensely mineral-driven and beguilingly textured medium-bodied flavors that culminate in a citrusy, dry and solidly persistent finish. Lovely...92." BH 6/12.
Meursault Charmes Henri Boillot 2010:
"Medium yellow. Sexy aromas of stone fruits and hazelnut. Rich, tactile and dry, with considerable nuance to the flavors of stone fruits, sweet herbs and minerals...92-94." IWC 9/11.
Chassagne Montrachet Boudriotte Bruno Colin 2010:
" Waves of fruit caress the palate in this masculine, virile Burgundy. This is a big, structured white, but it offers fine balance and absolutely no shortage of personality...91-93." WA 9/11.
Chablis Montee de Tonnerre Marcel Servin 2010:
"Big, powerful wine loaded with fruit. It possesses notable intensity of color and equally intense fruit. Succulent peaches, apricots and a variety of yellow stone fruit flow effortlessly from this generous, enveloping white...93." WA 8/11.

Puligny Montrachet La Garenne Etienne Sauzet 2010:
"Background notes of white orchard fruit and no salt water nuances. There is excellent detail and richness to the precise and vibrant flavors that possess impeccably good balance on the bone dry finish where a saline note arises that is again reminiscent of a fine Chablis....89-92." BH 6/12.
Corton Charlemagne Follin-Arbelet 2010:
"There is excellent intensity to the notably powerful medium weight plus flavors that possess lovely complexity and drive, particularly on the mineral-inflected and mouth coating finish. This well-balanced effort should amply reward mid-term cellaring...92." BH 6/12.
Batard Montrachet Lucien Le Moine 2010:
"Despite its unbridled power and sheer energy, the Batard possesses remarkable balance and purity. I can’t wait to taste this in another few years. Today, the Batard is a bit direct and frank, with little in the way of subtlety, but plenty of potential just the same...94-96." WA 8/12.
Chevalier Montrachet Colin-Deleger 2010:
"Rich, deep and powerful. Today the Chevalier is quite young and primary, with little in the way of aromatic and flavor development. Over time, though, sweet, honeyed notes begin to emerge as the wine gains volume and breadth in the glass....94." WA 8/12.
