Slashing the Price EVEN MORE on these Australian Value Reds
This one is downright irresponsible. The prices on these wines are already phenomenal given the quality, but we're taking it a step further to create a little bit of havoc in our warehouse. And we wouldn't have it any other way!!
As wineries, Betts & Scholl and Mollydooker could not be more different. Betts & Scholl crafts wines in a light and elegant style, while Mollydooker is known more for its full-throttle reds, but they both represent the best of what Australia has to offer: consistently high-quality wines at a reasonable price.
We picked two wines that are store favorites, and both of which received plenty of praise from Jeb Dunnuck (prior to his joining Robert Parker's Wine Advocate) just this past year:
"Lightly colored and elegant, yet loaded with flavor and texture, the 2008 Betts & Scholl Grenache The OG shows a copious amount of kirsch liqueur, strawberry, white pepper, flowers, and sweet spice on the nose. Seamless, pure, and beautifully put together, with a weightless and elegant feel, as well as juicy acidity that shines on the finish, this straight up delicious Grenache is brilliant now, yet will continue to impress for upwards of another 5-8 years...92." Jeb Dunnuck, 6/12.
"The 2010 Mollydooker Merlot The Scooter...offers a quality array of smoked plums and creamy blackberry liqueur to go with notions of leafy herbs, raw beef, toast, and espresso roast on the nose. This flows to a full-bodied red that has juicy, clean acidity, firm underlying tannin, and plenty of length on the finish...90." Jeb Dunnuck, 6/12.
In stock and ready to be enjoyed on a warm summer night or at your next barbecue, this special pricing is available only while supplies last...once they're gone, they gone!
