Brewer-Clifton – Top Tier Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from California's Dynamic Duo
History is full of great pairs. Lewis and Clark. Abbott and Costello. Siskel and Ebert. Ben and Jerry. There's a famous pair for just about everything, and when it comes to domestic wine, every conversation has to begin and end with Brewer Clifton.
"Two brilliant young winemakers, Greg Brewer and Steve Clifton, are symbolic of both the present and future of California high quality wine production. Seemingly coming out of nowhere, with their own personal visions of wine quality formed by French and Italian experiences as well as their belief in the cool climate sites of Santa Rita Hills, they have proven time and time again that remarkable wines can emerge from this relatively new viticultural region." – Robert Parker, August 2009
It seems like just yesterday that the Santa Rita Hills were still considered a "new viticultural region," but that's just proof of the effect that Brewer and Clifton have had on the area, and on California wine as a whole. They've single-handedly elevated the status of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir in the Central Coast, and the wines, while drinking beautifully right now, are highly cellar-worthy.
The 2011 vintage saw small yields and tiny production, and as a result our allocation is small. Be sure to lock in for these gems from Brewer-Clifton before they're gone.
All My Best,
