Renieri & Tuscany's "Big Three" Appellations
Saturday, June 15th | In-store | 12-4pm
"Class," "Finesse," "Balance," are words that have described the wines of Marco Bacci. We're happy for the opportunity to pour them at the store once again.
In 1983 Bacci had purchased a vineyard as a real estate investment. This vineyard was known as Castello di Bossi, and in 1985 he was "bitten by the wine bug" and created the first bottle of Corbaia. The wine remained a side project until 1995, when he immersed himself fully into viticulture.
Over the course of the next few years, he would also purchase estates in Montalcino and Morellino di Scansano out of a desire to own the "three best appellations of Tuscany." He replaced all the vines in an effort to start from scratch, and established his three wineries: Terre di Talamo (Maremma), Renieri (Montalcino), and Tenuta di Renieri (Chianti Classico).
His wines are crafted with the utmost care, using low yields ("One vine per bottle", according to Marco) and superior winemaking techniques to craft organic wines reflective of their respective terroir. In addition to being a strong proponent of green energy, nature conservation, and environmentalism, Marco crafts wines that are perennial favorites amongst consumers and reviewers alike, and are highly affordable given their massive level of quality.
