94-Point Sparkling Rose...HALF the Price of Rose Champagne
There's a saying in the wine world that "Italians love sparkling wine." That could be one reason why so few of us in the United States have even heard of the greatest Italian sparkling wine - Franciacorta, from northern Italy's Lombardy region. With the majority of it being consumed within Italy's borders, very little of it makes its way to overseas markets.
That is about to change, thanks to this Champagne-method Rose.
Bellavista Franciacorta Gran Cuvee Rose 2007 - "Very fine and refined with gorgeous length and beauty. Medium-to-full body with a lovely texture and a long, long finish. Love the texture and fruit to this. Subtle. Drink now...94 points." James Suckling, 4/13.
This masterpiece from Bellavista, a Lombardy institution (and on the short list Italy's premier wineries), was featured recently at the Great Wines of Italy event in New York City. If our attendee feedback is any indicator, Bellavista more than earned its place with this wine! A blend of 52% Chardonnay and 48% Pinot Nero, it is every bit as beautiful as even the best Rose Champagnes. And at less than $50 per bottle, this stands tall with its cousins from France, and at less than half the price!
Italy has enjoyed Bellavista's Franciacorta for a long time. Now it's time for us to jump on board!
