Must-have Rosés 2012 – Zachys Buying Guide

Over the past week Zachys has been bringing in delicious rosé from the 2012 vintage into the store and warehouses. With so many shades of pink and flavor profiles now being produced from around the world, we’ve made a quick list of our “must-have” rosés for this spring and summer to make this a 1 stop shop page for pink drinks any day of the week:

Cult-Favorite from the world-renowned Languedoc Producer Chateau Puech-haut!
Chateau Puech-Haut Rosé Cuvee Prestige Coteaux de Languedoc 2012 {#369778}
(Blend of Grenache and Cinsault) Light Salmon pink with white cherries, currant and rose petal on the nose carry through to the palate with clean salinity and racy character, enough character to pair with food and absolutely delightful on its own. - Zachys Buying Team

Bandol-Style Rosé ½ the price + 90 point WA score
Cotes du Roussillon Miraflors Rosé Domaine Lafage 2012 {#371983}
"The early-bottled, gorgeous 2012 Mir aflors Rose is a blend of 70% Mourvedre and 30% Grenache Gris that was aged on its lees for four months prior to bottling. Its beautiful color is accompanied by scents of framboise, earth and strawberries presented in a medium-bodied, surprisingly substantial format. Think of it as a Bandol-styled rose offered at a much more realistic price point...90" WA 12/12

Garnacha-based Siesta Rosé
La Calandria Sonrojo Rosé 2012 {#369774}
Saturated pink color with field strawberry and ripe raspberry on the nose. Palate is bright with vibrant acidity, strong notes of candied fruit, strawberries and tart red currant with secondary notes of cinnamon and spice. Long clean finish. - Zachys Buying Team

Zachys Staff Pick!
Cotes de Provence Rosé Chateau de Pampelonne 2012 {#373117}
(40% Grenache, 30% Cinsault, 20% Syrah, 10% Tibouren) Ballet slipper pink, elegant and inviting nose of white flowers and strawberry lead to a rich palate of strawberry, raspberry and touches of citrus fruit, fresh acidity and mineral backbone, impressive structure for rosé. – Zachys Buying Team
