"Silky, Elegant, and Delicious are the Buzzwords Here and This Will Drink Way Past its Price Point!"
This is one of our bestselling wines from the Southern Rhone every year. A favorite with Robert Parker and the Rhone Report the Chateau Pesquie Les Terrasses Cotes du Ventoux is just one of those wines that always rewards and is always rewarded with a 90+ review.
The 2011 arrived late in 2012 and we are pleased to have let this wine settle down and now offer it at the opening of 2013. When you think value from the Rhone Valley this is one wine that is always at the top of the list. Remember Cotes du Ventoux is a just a small area in Southern Rhone and these wines are basically just Cotes du Rhone from a more specific place; a place that turns out excellent values that put most Cotes du Rhone to shame.
"Another great vintage for this cuvee, the 2011 Château Pesquie Cotes du Ventoux Terrasses, a blend of 70% Grenache and 30% Syrah aged all in tank and old foudre, offers up a perfumed bouquet of sweet red fruits, violets, licorice, sappy garrigue, and hints of minerality that flows to a medium-bodied, gorgeously textured and seamless palate. Needing a short decant to flesh out, this brilliant value has no hard edges, silky tannin, and an elegant, “oh so drinkable” profile. Enough cannot be said about the quality coming out of this estate, and this wine should be purchase by the case and drunk over the coming 2-4 years. Silky, elegant, and delicious are the buzzwords here and this will drink way past its price point!...91." RR 9/12.
With great commentary like the above from the Rhone Report we do not expect this wine to last long.
