Crognolo, “Little Brother of Oreno” – Another Super-Tuscan Model of Consistency
When word was leaked that we had secured our allocation of Crognolo, Tenuta Sette Ponti’s entry-level wine, it immediately began to fly off our shelves. We can certainly understand why; Tenuta Sette Ponti’s flagship wine, Oreno, has been the very definition of consistency and excellence for the past decade, and the 2010 vintage was the best yet for Sette Ponti in general. We offered Oreno 2010 out recently and limited stock still remains, available for sale here. Suffice to say, it has been a banner year for Sette Ponti.
While a sampling of the 2010 Oreno already hints at the wine’s potential, it’s the 2010 Crognolo that allows us to experience the beauty of the vintage right now…and for an incredible price as well. It’s easy to see why people are already seeking out and grabbing as much of this “Baby Oreno” as possible.
"A wine with currant, spices and hazelnut character. Full body, with well-integrated tannins and a long finish. Chewy and rich. Consistently outstanding...92." JamesSuckling.com 11/12.
You may have Oreno for your cellar...but be sure to grab some Crognolo for your table!
